The BYD Seal is presented in the April 27, 2023 issue of the German automotive magazine AUTO BILD. A gear shifter developed by KOSTAL China is installed in the new sports sedan. This is described by AUTO BILD as particularly elegant. KOSTAL is the sole supplier of this product.
The gear shifter was developed by KOSTAL China in just ten months. The control element not only has the function of a gear shifter, but is also enriched with additional buttons with which various comfort functions can be operated.
BYD ("Build your dreams") uses the Shift-By-Wire module in its higher-end model series. A connection project has already been awarded to KOSTAL and is currently under development.
BYD Auto Company was founded in 2003. The car manufacturer is based in Shenzhen in the People's Republic of China and is one of the largest car producers in China and worldwide.
