The KOSTAL employees in Germany has successfully completed a campaign to collect electronic waste. In total, seven large containers weighing around 550 kg were collected and will now be properly recycled.
Andreas Stoss, Member Executive Board Operations and the campaign's patron, emphasized the importance of sustainable action and referred to the recently published figures of the UN Global E-Waste Monitor. In 2022, 62 million tons of electronic waste were produced worldwide, with a large proportion being generated in so-called first world countries. Europeans have the highest per capita electronic waste output of 17.6 kg per year.
The organizing team now plans to use the financial proceeds from the collection campaign for a local sustainability project.
KOSTAL would like to thank all employees who have contributed to sustainability and environmental protection and looks forward to further successful campaigns.
